The Art Collective
The Carnegie has partnered with The Art Collective to showcase their curated selection of captivating pieces at our gallery. As the first business member of the Arts & Culture Alliance of the Gaithersburg Parks, Arts and Recreation Corporation (G-PARC), The Carnegie initiated the ongoing “Call for Art” program. This nonprofit organization forges partnerships, raises awareness, and secures resources to support parks, arts, and recreation initiatives throughout the region. This collaboration perfectly aligns with Kisco’s mission to celebrate art, music, literature, and culture, enriching the lives of senior citizens by nurturing their individual passions.
Previously, a curated collection of artworks, meticulously selected by the Art Collective through a rigorous jury process involving alliance and Kisco representatives, was on display at the Discovery Center in Gaithersburg. The exhibition showcased 28 pieces chosen from over 60 submissions by members of the Gaithersburg Artist Collective, a program facilitated by the Kentlands Community Foundation and a proud G-PARC member. The artworks spanned various mediums, including acrylic and watercolor paintings, photography, mixed media, wood carving, and jewelry, providing a captivating glimpse into the local artistic scene. Now, this collection of captivating artwork will be displayed inside The Carnegie, adding an extra layer of artistic flair to the community as well as a vibrant space for residents and visitors to enjoy.
